The rusted sections of the floor pan had been cut out in readiness for welding. As this is something I know very little about, I called upon the services of a very good friend of ours, Chris Hunt. Chris has helped me out a number of times on various car related projects and as he is a fully qualified welder, seemed just the right man for the job.
Since watching Chris working on the car I decided it was time for me to learn to weld! I have attended an evening class and am now obviously a fully qualified welder....not!
Chris at work under the passenger floor pan.

So the drivers side went from this....

To this. I made up some seat supports for the after market seats to be bolted to and chris welded these in place as well as tacking in some angled pieces of steel to help with keeping the floor rigid. Its stronger now than when it left the factory!

From underneath it looks like this.

Thanks Chris, once again you have come to the rescue of an old maid.....
